Auch Berndt trotzt dem Wind und schreibt – Berndt braves the wind and continues to write – Anche Berndt continua a scrivere nonostante il maestrale….

Aquarell in hoher See – Aquarelle en pleine mer – Watercolour in the sea!

Selbst die vereinten Kräfte des Sturms und des Meeresgottes konnten das Aquarell nicht vernichten. Dank der Qualität des 300 g/m2 – 140 lb – Papieres und Berndts beherztem Einsatzes konnte das Bild triefnass, aber ansonsten mit unversehrten Farben aus den Wellen geborgen werden! Dass die Farben diesen Härtetest überwinden würden, hätten wir nie gedacht!

Even the combined forces of the storm and the God of the Seas couldn´t destroy the watercolour picture. Thanks to the quality of the 300g/m2 – 140 lb paper and Berndt´s helpful intervention, the picture was rescued totally wet, but otherwise unharmed, especially as respect to the colours. Même les forces unies du mistral et du dieu de la mer n´ont pas réussi à engloutir l´aquarelle que j´étais en train de peindre. Grâce à la qualité du papier de 300 g/m2 et à l´aide héroïque de Berndt, la feuille de papier aquarelle a été sauvée mouillée mais intacte. C´est ce qu´on appelle la technique humide sur humide!

Nach 10 Minuten im Meer noch etwas Grün dazu – Das nennt man Aquarell nass-in-nass! After 10 minutes in the sea I added a little bit of green – That is wet-in-wet technique!

Berndt with the rescued watercolour…Berndt a récupéré l´aquarelle à la plage un peu plus loin….Das Aquarell wurde 10 Minuten später an Land gespült, Berndt hat es gerettet…

Das Aquarell bewegt sich Richtung St Tropez – L´aquarelle nage vers St Tropez – L´acquerello si lascia portare dalle onde verso St Tropez…

Die letzte Farbgebung unter dem schützenden Vordach einer Bar. Les dernières couleurs ajoutées sous le toit protecteur d´un bar.
