Hiking in the Piedmont Region – From Madonna del Lago (1100 m) to Colle San Bartolomeo (1446 m)
The lake at Madonna del Lago offers a habitat to critically endangered newts comprising triturus alpestris apuanis and the anuran pelodytes punctatuss. This region in the Alps is also known as a place of resistance against the fascists.

Der kleine See beherbergt vom Aussterben bedrohte Molcharten wie den triturus alpestris apuanis sowie den Froschlurch Pelodytes punctatus. Diese Gegend in den Alpen ist außerdem bekannt als Ort der Resistenza gegen die Faschisten. Hier starb 1944 der Partisan und Arzt Felice Cascione, Autor des Liedes „Fischia il vento“.
Il lago Madonna del Lago in provincial di Cuneo ospita il raro tritone appenninico (triturus alpestris apuanis) e sono state rivenute delle larve del rarissimo Pelotite (Pelodytes punctatus), uno degli anfibi a più elevato rischio di estinzione.
