Letztens bin ich mit einer Freundin bei Bad Griesbach über die Hügel gewandert. Wir hatten einen weiten Blick über geometrisch wirkende Rapsfelder und Wälder, über die ein Schatten ging.
EN: Lately I hiked with a friend across the hills near Bad Griesbach. The view opened wide over almost geometric fields of blooming rapeseed and dark forest edges, across which a wandering shadow moved. A red kite circled above us, drawing slow arcs into the sky.
Die Königin – La reine – The Queen
Ich hab hier versucht, Eleonore von Aquitanien darzustellen, die im 12. Jahrhundert sowohl Königin von Frankreich als auch Königin von England war. Sie wird auch „Königin der Troubadoure“ genannt. Eine faszinierende und mächtige Frauenfigur aus dem Mittelalter.

FR: J’ai ici représenté Aliénor d’Aquitaine, cette femme exceptionnelle qui fut au XIIᵉ siècle d’abord reine de France, puis reine d’Angleterre. Surnommée la “reine des troubadours”, elle demeure l’une des figures les plus fascinantes et influentes du Moyen Âge. J´ai écouté le podcast à son sujet sur France Culture pendant que je peignais.
Letztens sahen wir im Tierfreigelände einen Braunbären voller Lebensfreude, der mit einem Fellbüschel spielte. Er lag im Teich und spritzte vergnügt um sich. Ich habe versucht, diese heitere Szene einzufangen – mit Aquarell-, Acryl- und Ölpastellfarben.
EN: Recently, we watched a brown bear in the wildlife park, full of joy, playing with a tuft of fur. He lay in the pond, splashing happily all around. I tried to capture this cheerful moment using watercolor, acrylic, and oil pastels.
Und weil es letztens so schön war, draußen in der Streuobstwiese zu malen, hab ich es heute wieder getan. Diesmal mit Sicht auf die Bruder Konrad-Kapelle. In der Sonne, umgeben vom Vogelgesang.
And because it was so lovely painting outdoors in the traditional orchard last time, I did it again today — this time with a view of the Bruder Konrad Chapel. In the sunshine, surrounded by birdsong.
Es ist mir aufgefallen, dass es kaum (oder keine?) Frauenbüsten als Machtfiguren mit Lorbeerkränzen gibt. Und so dachte ich, ich male mal eine…
